The Series 65A Photoelectric Smoke Detector uses light sensing technology to "see" smoke entering the chamber. The external detector moulding is identical to that of the ionisation detector, and has an indicator LED which is clear in quiescent state and produces a red light in alarm. It responds well to slow-burning, smouldering fires and is well suited for bedrooms and escape routes. The detector is unaffected by wind or atmospheric pressure and includes a flashing LED and magnet-operated test switch option.
